Class A and Class AB by design goal
Accuphase builds both pure Class A amplifiers and high output Class AB amplifiers, and neither is simply better than the other. Class A designs are prized for their continuous linearity and the way they render fine low level detail and tonal warmth. Class AB designs are engineered to deliver greater power reserves for demanding loudspeakers and larger rooms. Choosing between them is really a question of your speakers, your room, and the character you enjoy.
AAVA volume control
Many Accuphase preamplifiers and integrated amplifiers use AAVA, the Accuphase developed volume system that adjusts level without a conventional resistor based potentiometer in the signal path. The goal is a signal that stays clean and consistent at every listening level, from late night quiet to full concert scale.
Build quality and longevity

The pure Class A integrateds are for the listener who prizes tonal refinement and low level resolution above sheer power. The Accuphase E-700 brings the Class A character in an approachable single box, and within the same Class A integrated range the Accuphase E-800S is the more ambitious statement, offering more of everything Accuphase pours into this line.
A helpful note on flexibility. Several integrateds and preamplifiers accept optional boards such as the Accuphase DAC-60 digital input board and the Accuphase AD-60 analog disc input board, so you can add streaming digital or vinyl playback inside the same chassis.

Among the pure Class A stereo amplifiers, the Accuphase A-48S is a superb foundation, with the Accuphase A-80 and the Accuphase A-300 representing progressively more ambitious statements within the Class A line.
If your loudspeakers or room call for greater power reserves, the Class AB stereo amplifiers are designed for exactly that. The Accuphase P-4600 and the Accuphase P-7500 deliver generous output for demanding speakers while keeping the Accuphase composure intact.
SACD and CD Players
Accuphase disc players are engineered as complete listening instruments, with careful transport mechanisms and onboard conversion. The Accuphase DP-450 is an excellent introduction to Accuphase digital playback. The Accuphase DP-570S and the Accuphase DP-770 continue up the same range with more advanced transport and conversion for listeners who want the fullest disc performance.
