The Pro-Ject RPM 1 Carbon is the entry point to Pro-Ject's RPM range, and it carries the design ideas that line is known for: a compact plinth with the motor decoupled from it, a 300 mm MDF platter running on an inverted bearing, and an 8.6 inch S shaped tonearm made as one piece from carbon and aluminium. Anti-skating is magnetic rather than a thread and weight, and the counterweight is TPE damped to keep arm resonance down.
This one is sold without a cartridge. The arm takes any standard half inch cartridge, so you can fit whatever suits your system and budget, and we are happy to recommend one and mount it for you. It is a manual deck: you change speed between 33-1/3 and 45 rpm by moving the belt on the stepped pulley. There is no phono stage built in, so it connects to a phono input on your amplifier or to an outboard phono preamplifier. This is the gloss white finish.
