The NAD C 558 is a belt-drive turntable engineered to deliver a clean, low-noise analog playback experience at an accessible price point. It features a precision belt-drive mechanism driven by a low-vibration AC motor, an MDF platter with felt mat, and a factory-fitted Ortofon OM10 moving magnet cartridge — a well-regarded entry that offers genuine high-fidelity retrieval straight out of the box with no cartridge upgrade needed to get started.

The tonearm is a static-balanced straight design with adjustable anti-skate and vertical tracking force, allowing proper setup for the installed cartridge and accommodating future cartridge swaps. The C 558 includes a built-in switchable phono preamplifier, enabling direct connection to any line-level input — no external phono stage required — while also providing a dedicated phono output for use with a separate preamp. Speed is selectable between 33⅓ and 45 RPM. A hinged dust cover is included.
