The NAD T 778 is a 9.2-channel home theater receiver built around NAD's modular MDC2 (Modular Design Construction) platform, allowing future upgrades as formats and technologies evolve. It delivers 85 watts per channel into 8 ohms (all channels driven), with the flexibility to bridge channels for greater power in configurations requiring it. The T 778 is fully Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D capable, supporting immersive audio formats across all nine channels simultaneously.
At the heart of the T 778 is Dirac Live® room correction, which performs a full acoustic analysis of the listening space and generates linear phase correction filters — a measurably more sophisticated approach than conventional EQ-based systems. HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.2 is featured across all seven HDMI inputs and two outputs, with full 4K/60Hz pass-through, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG support. eARC is supported on the primary HDMI output.
The unit includes BluOS® streaming integration via MDC2 module, enabling access to high-resolution audio streaming services, multi-room playback, and AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Roon Ready compatibility. A fully discrete amplifier topology — free of coupling capacitors in the signal path — is employed throughout, consistent with NAD's longstanding approach to high-fidelity amplifier design.
Additional features include a moving magnet phono stage, Zone 2 and Zone 3 pre-outs, extensive trigger and IR control options, and compatibility with the NAD remote app.
