Mission 778S

The Mission 778S delivers high resolution wireless music streaming with audiophile grade sound, advanced connectivity, and seamless control for modern hi fi systems.

Product Overview

The Mission 778S is a compact wireless music streamer created to pair perfectly with the Mission 778X integrated amplifier while also fitting easily into a wide range of modern audio systems. Designed with the same retro inspired half width chassis and refined styling as the rest of the Mission 778 Series, the Mission 778S combines elegant appearance with advanced streaming technology and high performance digital audio engineering.

The Mission 778S is powered by streaming technology developed in collaboration with Silent Angel, giving it stable wireless performance, intuitive app control, and support for leading streaming platforms. Native support includes Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, TuneIn Radio, AirPlay 2, and Roon Ready compatibility for bit perfect playback. Music can also be streamed from network shared storage or USB drives for flexible local playback.

At the heart of the Mission 778S is the ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M 32 bit DAC with HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology. This advanced DAC design helps deliver ultra low noise, exceptional signal integrity, greater dynamic detail, and a more natural soundstage. The Mission 778S also upsamples incoming audio to 352.8kHz or 384kHz to improve clarity and reduce digital artifacts.

The Mission 778S includes both analogue and digital outputs, including balanced XLR outputs for higher signal purity and reduced noise over longer cable runs. Optical, coaxial, USB Audio, RCA analogue, and headphone outputs provide excellent flexibility for integration into a variety of hi fi and headphone listening systems.

The onboard headphone amplifier in the Mission 778S is designed to drive a wide range of headphones with clarity, control, and precision. Combined with the streamer’s high resolution playback capabilities, the Mission 778S becomes a complete digital listening hub for both speaker and personal audio systems.

The Mission 778S supports dual band Wi Fi and Gigabit Ethernet connections for stable streaming performance. Setup is handled through the dedicated Mission 778S app for iOS and Android devices, providing responsive control and easy access to streaming services, playback settings, and firmware updates.
