The Gustard X30 is a fully balanced DAC with a network streaming board and an analog preamp stage. It runs four ESS ES9039SPRO converters, two per channel, with an ES9311Q regulator feeding them, an XMOS XU216 USB receiver and a discrete Class A analog low pass filter. Clocking comes from thermostatic OCXO oscillators with ESS K2 synthesis, and a 50 ohm BNC input accepts an external 10 MHz reference.
Inputs cover USB-B at up to 32 bit 768 kHz PCM and DSD512, AES/EBU, coaxial, Toslink, two I2S inputs over HDMI, an SD card slot and Ethernet. On the network side it works with Roon, AirPlay, Spotify, UPnP and NAA, and it is set up from a web page on the unit. Volume is a relay switched R2R ladder in the analog domain, run from the included remote, and the XLR and RCA outputs can be left at fixed level if you want to feed a separate preamp instead.
