The AURALiC ARIES S1 is a streaming processor built on the company's Tesla G3 platform. It has no DAC section, so it feeds an outboard converter over AES/EBU, coaxial, Toslink or its USB host output, and it handles PCM up to 384 kHz in 32 bit along with DSD64 through DSD512. Unlike the ARIES models before it, the S1 also accepts digital sources of its own: coaxial, two Toslink inputs and USB audio from a computer, so it can reclock and process an existing source as well as stream.

Streaming runs over wired Gigabit Ethernet, with AURALiC's Lightning DS app, AirPlay 2, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz, Amazon Music Unlimited, UPnP and DLNA servers, network shared folders, USB storage and internet radio. A USB-A port takes a drive or a USB CD drive for ripping and playback. Onboard processing includes the AURALiC resampler, a parametric equalizer, speaker placement compensation and loudness leveling. There is no Wi-Fi radio for network playback, so plan on an Ethernet run to the rack.
