Description

The Amphion Argon 7LX is the larger floorstander in the Argon range, whose design DNA traces to Amphion's reference Two18 studio monitor. Handmade in Finland, it uses a 1 inch titanium tweeter in Amphion's 5th generation U/D/D waveguide flanked by two 6.5 inch aluminum woofers in a passive radiator loaded cabinet for authoritative, controlled low end.

The dual woofers and passive radiator loading take usable bass down to 28 Hz within a 6 dB window while keeping the sound tight and accurate. As on every Amphion model, the crossover is set low at 1,600 Hz so the midrange remains coherent, and the waveguide controls dispersion for stable imaging across the room.

At 91 dB sensitivity the Argon 7LX plays loud with modest power, though its 4 ohm nominal impedance rewards amplifiers with current, and Amphion recommends 50 to 300 watts.
