TEAC AX-505

The TEAC AX-505 is a compact fully balanced stereo integrated amplifier that pairs a high current power supply with a TEAC-tuned Hypex Ncore Class D output stage. It delivers 70 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 115 watts per channel into 4 ohms at rated output, with JEITA maximums of 90 and 130 watts per channel respectively, giving it easy control over a wide range of bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers.

Balanced XLR and three sets of unbalanced RCA line inputs feed a signal path that stays balanced from input to output, keeping noise low and preserving fine detail. Gold plated screw type speaker terminals accept banana plugs and heavy gauge cable, while a dedicated headphone output serves late night listening. Measured performance is strong, with total harmonic distortion of 0.002 percent and a line signal to noise ratio of 110dB.

Housed in a slim aluminum chassis that measures just 290mm wide, the AX-505 is built to slot into tight shelves and desktop systems without giving up serious two channel performance. It is available in black and silver finishes and works naturally alongside other components in the TEAC Reference 500 Series.
