This is the exact unit shown in the photos — a demo item being offered as open box. Please note that no factory warranty applies. The A-S2200 is the middle model in Yamaha's current A-S flagship trilogy, sitting between the A-S1200 and the A-S3200 and sharing much of its engineering DNA with Yamaha's reference C-5000 and M-5000 separates. Built around a fully balanced, floating class-AB circuit topology, it delivers 90 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 150 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with a large low-loss toroidal transformer at its core keeping flux leakage minimal and energy transfer pure.

The chassis follows Yamaha's Mechanical Ground Concept, with the power transformer, block capacitors, and heat sink all bolted directly to the frame, and the chrome-plated brass feet welded directly to the chassis for maximum rigidity and vibration control. This structural philosophy underpins the A-S2200's expressive, rhythmic bass character. A low-impedance design using thick ground wires and PC-Triple C internal speaker wire contributes to an open, natural soundstage, while four separate power supply circuits keep noise between stages to a minimum. The discrete MM/MC phono stage, discrete headphone amplifier, one balanced XLR input, four RCA line inputs, pre-out and main-in connectivity, and A/B speaker switching round out a thoroughly considered feature set. The softly illuminated analog level meters on the front panel are both a nod to the golden era of hi-fi and a genuinely beautiful visual companion to the music.
