TEAC AP-505

The TEAC AP-505 is an ultra compact stereo power amplifier that brings genuine high fidelity muscle to a chassis barely larger than a sheet of A4 paper. A TEAC-tuned Hypex Ncore Class D module drives 70 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 115 watts per channel into 4 ohms at rated output, rising to JEITA maximums of 90 and 130 watts per channel, all from a fully balanced circuit that runs from input to speaker terminal.

Flexibility is a core strength. The AP-505 operates in standard stereo, in bi-amp mode for compatible loudspeakers, or as a BTL bridged monoblock that delivers up to 250 watts into 8 ohms, so a pair can be configured as dual monoblocks for larger rooms and more demanding speakers. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs feed gold plated screw type speaker terminals that accept banana plugs and heavy gauge cable.

Passive cooling and a clean, low noise design keep the AP-505 quiet in operation and easy to place, whether stacked with a matching TEAC preamplifier or network player or partnered with a separate preamp. It is offered in black and silver finishes as part of the TEAC Reference 500 Series.
