This is the exact unit shown in the photos — a demo item being offered as open box. Please note that no factory warranty applies. The AP-505 is TEAC's compact, high-performance stereo power amplifier from the Reference 500 series, built around a Hypex Ncore class-D amplifier module that has been extensively listened to and carefully tuned by TEAC's engineers. Despite its remarkably compact A4-sized footprint, it delivers 130 watts per channel in stereo mode and 250 watts in BTL (Bridge Tied Load) mono mode, with independent power supply circuits for each channel anchored by an oversized toroidal transformer for stable, low-noise current delivery.
The fully balanced circuit design runs from the input section all the way through to the output stage, effectively eliminating common-mode noise for extremely low distortion and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. High-quality MUSES8820E dual op-amps are used at both the XLR and RCA inputs. Three operating modes — stereo, bi-amp, and BTL — offer genuine system flexibility, with a pair of AP-505 units combinable for bi-amplification or bridged mono operation. The entire outer chassis is formed from high-grade aluminum alloy panels firmly attached to a robust steel inner chassis, minimizing mechanical vibration throughout. Passive cooling keeps the amp completely silent in operation with no fan noise. TEAC's patent-pending Pin-Point three-point feet support the chassis on just a small surface contact area to further reduce resonance and improve soundstage clarity. Front-panel analog level meters with four-step dimming and adjustable sensitivity add a satisfying visual element to the package.
