The MoFi UltraPhono is a fully discrete, dual-mono phono preamplifier designed to extract maximum performance from both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. Gain is selectable at 40dB for MM and 60dB for MC, with adjustable resistive loading via internal DIP switches to allow precise cartridge matching. RIAA equalization is implemented with tight tolerances throughout the circuit, resulting in accurate tonal reproduction and a vanishingly low noise floor — rated at better than 80dB for MM and 72dB for MC.

The signal path is fully discrete and DC-coupled, bypassing the coloration and frequency limitations inherent in op-amp-based designs. The UltraPhono steps up from MoFi's StudioPhono with a more refined power supply implementation and a higher-grade component complement, yielding a quieter, more transparent presentation across the frequency range. A subsonic filter is included to suppress low-frequency rumble from warped records without impacting musical content.

Standard RCA inputs and outputs are provided alongside a grounding terminal. The external power supply keeps switching noise and transformer interference well removed from the sensitive phono signal path.
