Luxman L-507Z Integrated Amplifier (Used)

The L-507Z is the debut model of Luxman's new Z series, representing a significant generational leap forward from the outgoing U series and introducing the brand's newly developed LIFES 1.0 (Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System) amplification circuit. Built around a three-stage Darlington triple-parallel push-pull output stage, it delivers 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 210 watts per channel into 4 ohms in Class AB operation — power output comparable to a dedicated separate power amplifier.

LIFES 1.0 is a fundamental evolution of Luxman's long-standing ODNF (Only Distortion Negative Feedback) circuit, redesigned from the ground up using advanced simulation technology and extensive listening-led development. Rather than feeding any portion of the original audio signal back to the main amplifier, it isolates and cancels only the distortion component, achieving a measured reduction in amplification stage distortion to less than half that of the previous system. The power supply is built around a custom-made 600VA EI-type transformer feeding eight 10,000μF large-capacity filter capacitors for instantaneous current delivery under demanding dynamic loads.

The LECUA1000 electronically controlled 88-step attenuator is integrated directly into the amplifier circuit for minimal signal degradation across the full volume range, with a discrete buffer stage at the preamplifier output for confident drive of the subsequent power stage. A fully discrete MM/MC phono stage supports high-quality analog playback, and dual headphone outputs are provided including both a standard 6.3mm jack and a 4.4mm balanced output with independent left and right ground wiring for improved channel separation. Two balanced XLR inputs, four RCA line inputs, pre-out and main-in connectivity, A/B speaker switching with robust binding posts, defeatable tone and balance controls, a loudness function, and a 12V trigger output round out an exceptionally comprehensive feature set. The softly backlit needle-type analog VU meters and solid aluminum remote control complete one of the finest integrated amplifiers available at its price point.
