The EverSolo Play CD Edition is a compact all in one hi-fi system that packs a network streamer, a high resolution DAC, a Class D integrated amplifier, a digital preamplifier, an MM and MC phono stage, and a built in CD drive into a single aluminum chassis measuring about 3 by 9 by 9 inches. It is built around an AKM AK4493SEQ DAC that decodes PCM up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD up to DSD512, and its amplifier delivers 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 110 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Everything is managed through a 5.5 inch LCD touchscreen or the EverSolo Control app.
Connectivity is extensive for the size. Inputs include optical and coaxial S/PDIF up to 192kHz/24-bit, HDMI ARC, a stereo RCA line input, and a dedicated MM and MC phono input. Outputs include amplified speaker binding posts, a variable RCA pre-out, a coaxial digital output, a subwoofer output with adjustable crossover from 40Hz to 500Hz, and a USB audio output to an external DAC. Streaming covers Roon Ready, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, DLNA and UPnP, and services such as Amazon Music and HighResAudio, over dual-band Wi-Fi or Gigabit Ethernet.
The defining feature is the CD section. An original Hitachi-LG optical CD drive, mounted on a vibration dampening chassis, plays standard audio CDs and can also serve as a pure transport into a higher end external DAC. It additionally rips discs to WAV or FLAC, saving them to 32GB of internal storage or an attached USB drive, with metadata added automatically. The unit is finished in black, carries a one year manufacturer warranty, and ships with a power cable and user manual, with a remote sold separately.
