Goldring GR3 High-Performance Plug-and-Play Turntable

Over a Century of Heritage. One Modern Masterpiece.

Representing Goldring’s triumphant return to the turntable arena, the GR3 is a premium, belt-driven solution designed for the modern vinyl enthusiast. Developed in collaboration with a renowned British hi-fi manufacturer, it bridges the gap between classic analog soul and contemporary "plug-and-play" convenience.

Award-Winning Sound Out of the Box

The GR3 comes factory-fitted with the multi-award-winning Goldring E3 Moving Magnet (MM) cartridge. Pre-installed and perfectly aligned on a hand-assembled aluminum tonearm, the E3 utilizes Magnetic Duplex technology to provide exceptional channel separation and a musical soundstage.

Superior Speed Stability

To ensure your music remains faithful to the original recording, the GR3 features a high-mass phenolic resin platter. Engineered to maximize the "flywheel effect," the platter concentrates its weight on the outer rim to suppress speed variations (wow and flutter), resulting in rock-solid rotational stability.

Effortless Connectivity

Unlike traditional high-end decks, the GR3 features a built-in high-quality RIAA phono pre-amplifier. This allows you to connect the turntable directly to any amplifier or powered speakers—such as the Q Acoustics M20 or M40—without needing a dedicated phono input.

Premium QED Interconnects Included

To guarantee the signal remains pure, Goldring has partnered with its sister brand, QED. Every GR3 includes two sets of premium cables:

  • 1.5m Phono-to-Phono (RCA) for traditional hi-fi setups.

  • 3.0m Phono-to-3.5mm Jack for easy connection to portable or powered speakers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Is the Goldring GR3 a manual or automatic turntable?

The GR3 is a fully manual turntable. This is preferred by audiophiles as it eliminates the mechanical interference associated with automatic mechanisms.

2. How do I change the speed from 33 1/3 to 45 rpm?

Simply lift the platter and move the drive belt from the smaller pulley (33 rpm) to the larger pulley (45 rpm).

3. Can I bypass the built-in phono preamp?

The GR3 is designed as a streamlined solution with a permanently active, high-performance preamp to ensure the shortest, cleanest signal path.

4. Is the cartridge upgradable?

Yes. While the E3 is excellent, the stylus can be easily upgraded to the Goldring E4, or the entire cartridge can be swapped thanks to standard half-inch mounting.

5. Does the GR3 come with a dust cover?

Yes, it includes a high-quality, transparent Perspex dust cover.

6. What makes the "flywheel" platter better?

By placing the weight at the edge, it creates more rotational momentum, smoothing out motor fluctuations for better timing.

7. Can I connect this directly to my computer?

Yes, using an external analog-to-digital interface or a computer's "Line-In" port with the included RCA-to-3.5mm cable.

8. What speakers do you recommend?

It is a perfect match for powered speakers like the Q Acoustics M20 or M40.

9. Does it require assembly?

The GR3 is "plug-and-play" ready. You only need to fit the platter and belt and set the counterweight according to the manual.

10. Why are the included QED cables important?

QED is a world leader in audio interconnects. Including these ensures you don't lose signal quality or introduce hum into your system.
