What sets the Aura C apart is its use of an Air Motion Transformer, or AMT, tweeter. Rather than pushing air with a conventional dome, an AMT works by folding and unfolding a pleated diaphragm, moving air with remarkable speed and low distortion. The result is a treble that feels open and detailed without ever turning harsh or fatiguing across a long viewing session.
Paired with the AMT is a 6.5 inch mid bass driver in a two way configuration. Keeping the design as a true two way, rather than crowding in extra drivers, helps preserve a coherent and focused presentation, which is precisely what you want from the channel that carries most of the spoken word. The cabinet construction and finish reflect the same care Wharfedale gives the rest of the Aura family, so it looks at home beneath a screen or on a media console.

Whichever mains you choose, the Aura C keeps the front three voices consistent.

The Aura C, with its single 6.5 inch driver, is the more compact and easily placed center, well suited to systems built around standmounts or smaller floorstanders. If you are running the larger floorstanders in a bigger room and want a center with more scale to match, the Wharfedale Aura CS steps things up. There is no wrong choice here, only the one that best matches the size of your front stage and the space you are filling.
Amplifier Pairing Thoughts
As part of a home theater system, the Aura C will be driven by the center channel output of your AV receiver or processor. It is an efficient, easygoing load that does not demand exotic power, so it pairs happily with quality receivers of moderate output. That said, the AMT tweeter rewards clean amplification. A well engineered receiver or a dedicated multichannel amplifier will let the Aura C reveal the subtle detail and low noise floor it is capable of, particularly on quiet dialogue passages where clarity matters most. Setting a sensible crossover to your subwoofer, typically in the region where the mid bass driver naturally rolls off, will let the Aura C focus on what it does best.
