An Overview of the Spendor A4.2
The Spendor A4.2 is a compact three way floorstanding loudspeaker, hand built in Hailsham England by a company that has been refining British loudspeaker design since 1969. It is one of the slimmest floorstanders in the Spendor A-line, with a footprint measured at just 165mm across and a modest 930mm height. That narrow profile lets it disappear visually in a room while still delivering the scale and low frequency reach that a floorstander is meant to provide, reaching down to a stated 32 Hz.

Dynamic Damping Cabinet
The A4.2 uses an asymmetric ported cabinet with Spendor's Dynamic Damping. Rather than simply bracing a cabinet to be inert, this approach manages panel energy so stored resonances are dissipated in a controlled way. Combined with the asymmetric internal layout and the port tuning, this is what allows a cabinet this slim to sound composed and full. The enclosure is finished in real wood veneer options, in keeping with the hand built British character of the whole line.
