This is the exact pair shown in the photos — a demo item being offered as open box. Please note that no factory warranty applies. The EVO 4.S is Wharfedale's dedicated surround speaker from the EVO4 series, a range developed in parallel with the company's flagship Elysian line and sharing many of its core technologies. Each speaker is a 3-way design packed with a driver complement that goes well beyond typical surround speakers — featuring dual 30x60mm Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeters, two 2-inch soft-fabric dome midrange drivers mounted on angled baffles for wide dispersion, and a 6.5-inch black woven Kevlar cone woofer with Wharfedale's low-distortion motor system.
The sealed acoustic suspension cabinet is purpose-built with multi-layer sandwich construction — combining stiff MDF layers with high-loss chipboard bonded between them — to cancel cabinet resonances and keep coloration to a minimum. Contoured cabinet edges reduce diffraction, and a magnetically attached acoustically transparent grille is included. At just 9.6" x 15.7" x 5.7" (HWD), the compact form factor is well suited to wall mounting via two built-in keyhole slots or optional articulating bracket using the 6mm threaded inserts on the rear. Dual sets of angled 5-way binding post terminals allow for bi-wiring. Voice-matched to the rest of the EVO4 lineup, the 4.S integrates seamlessly with EVO4 front and center channel speakers for a cohesive and enveloping home theater soundstage.
